Dr. Karen Burrows is an Assistant Professor of the Practice at the EGAN School of Nursing and Health Studies, teaches Undergraduate and Graduates students, and serves as the Veterans Administration Nursing Academic Partnership Program Director. She brings over 30 years of healthcare experience in Clinical, Education, and Management.
Dr. Lisa Sundean is an assistant professor and director of the Master of Healthcare Administration program at the Egan School. Her research and scholarship focus includes nursing leadership, specifically in board leadership roles, health policy, and nursing workforce development.
Dr. Anna Cutaia is an Adjunct Instructor for the Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership program. Dr. Cutaia’s career path has touched every segment of the educational leadership spectrum. She currently holds the position of superintendent of schools in Milford, Conn.
Dr. Mirco Speretta's early research focused on the creation of user profiles that improve search results. He spent 10 years as a director of technical engineering, acting as a security incident manager for mobile websites and applications.
Dr. Anthony J. Santella serves as Professor of Public Health and Director of the MPH program. His research helps improve the health and well-being of vulnerable communities, including people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS, gender and sexual minorities, justice-involved persons, youth, and people experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Diana Mager is a professor at the Egan School. She has been a Home Health Care Nurse for over 33 years and is Board-Certified in Home Health Nursing through the American Nurse's Credentialing Center. Her research interests include public health nursing and population health.
Dr. Kim teaches in the areas of managing diversity and inclusion, conflict management, negotiation, and research methods (both quantitative and qualitative). Her research focuses on workforce diversity, cross-cultural management, and conflict management and negotiations.
Dr. McDonald teaches Principles of Finance in the MBA program. He holds a PhD in finance from the University of Tennessee and his work has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal, CNN, Nasdaq.com, Bloomberg, Reuters, and many other outlets.
Dr. Tao has a doctoral degree in information systems and helped design the curriculum for the MSBA program. He has published papers in several journals and presented research at premier academic conferences. His special interests include data analytics, data structure, process mining, and deep learning.
Serving as an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Dolan School of Business, Dr. Sciandra's expertise lies in consumer and marketer communications. With an MBA from John Carroll University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, he teaches courses in marketing principles, brand management, and consumer behavior. Dr. Sciandra's dedication to both research and teaching has been recognized with numerous awards, including the President’s Innovation Award for Pedagogical Innovation and the ACME Distinguished Paper Award.
Julie Marella, MS, is an instructor of the practice and director of the MS marketing analytics and strategy program. With over 30 years of marketing experience with Fortune 500 companies, her current focus is experiential learning and enhancing program curriculum to provide students with a competitive advantage.
Dr. Naderi holds a PhD in marketing and has earned several awards and recognitions for his research in the field. He is a member of the Academy of Marketing Science and serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Consumer Marketing.
Dr. Mousumi Bose Godbole earned her PhD. degree at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA in 2009. Her dissertation related to identifying a unique buying pattern named acquisitive buying. She joined Fairfield University in Fall 2009, prior to which she was at Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD. She has 8.5 years of corporate experience in corporate sales and brand management.
Dr. Maymin is the co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Sports Analytics. He is the Chief Technology Officer for Swipe.bet and has been an analytics consultant with several NBA teams.
Dr. Huntley holds a PhD in systems engineering and has published several articles in various business and engineering journals. His special interests include big data, Python for business analytics, and database systems.
Lisa Stafford has over 30 years of experience in the banking, insurance, healthcare, and academic industries, providing leadership coaching to top executives on human capital strategy. She has headed up Corporate Training, Learning and Development and Talent Management organizations. At Aetna for over 20 years, Lisa worked closely with the direct reports to the CEO, and their staff organizations. Lisa has held leadership positions in senior HR Client areas, Corporate Education, Staffing and Organization Development.
Dr. Anna-Maria Aksan specializes in economic development with a focus on population health and growth. She earned her BA in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University in 2004 and her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 2010. Dr. Aksan's research explores the role of health in economic development, disparities in health access, demography, and population health.
Dr. Kathryn A. Nantz is a Professor of Economics at Fairfield University, specializing in applied labor economics, education, and curriculum development. She is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Teacher of the Year in the College of Arts and Sciences in 2009. She has served as President of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international honor society for economists, and currently facilitates the Distinguished Visiting Professionals program in Fairfield's Waide Center for Applied Ethics.
A seasoned insurance professional and academic, Dr. Ritsatos has held top managerial positions in the Insurance and Financial Services sector. With a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, he has taught Finance and Insurance at various universities and has published several articles in journals like the Journal of Economics and Finance. He received the Annual Award from the Pangregorian of CT Charitable Foundation for professional service in October 2022.
As a Full Professor in the Marketing department at Fairfield University, Dr. Micu brings extensive academic and corporate experience to her role. With a background working at Coca-Cola, she specializes in advertising effectiveness, social media, and cross-cultural consumer behavior. Since joining Fairfield in 2005, she has taught a wide array of marketing courses and has been recognized with awards for teaching innovation and academic advising.
Dr. Carl A Scheraga is the Chair of the Department of Management in the Dolan School of Business and a Professor of Business Strategy and Technology Management. With degrees from the University of Connecticut and Brown University, he has published extensively in renowned journals and received awards such as the Transportation Research Forum Outstanding Research Paper Award and the Herbert O. Whitten Service Award.
With a Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the University of Chicago, Dr. Schmidt serves as an Associate Professor of Management, and he has over 30 years of experience consulting on ethics with corporations and organizations. He has been recognized with awards such as the Honors Program Team Teaching Award and the Teaching Excellence Award from Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business. His research emphasizes ethical reasoning, insurance and banking ethics, and entrepreneurship and ethics.
David Mangini is an Instructor of the Practice at Fairfield University's Dolan School of Business, specializing in Financial Technology, its regulation, and its impact on financial services. Mr. Mangini teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on FinTech, Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, and more and serves as Director of the MS FinTech Program. With a background spanning payments, IT security, telecommunications, and strategy consulting for Central Banks, Mr. Mangini brings extensive industry experience to his role. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and executive programs from Yale University.
